DESCRIPTION:Our monthly tournament series is switching it up for the summer and doing a pair of Fair Strike Knockout tournaments. \nPlayers will be in groups of 3 or 4\, playing on randomly assigned machines. The top scorer on each game will get zero strikes\, the lowest scorer will get 2 strikes\, and the middle scorer(s) will each get 1 strike. Elimination will occur when a player has reached a pre-determined number of strikes (either 5 or 7 depending on turnout). Play will continue until only 1 player remains.Prize money will be awarded to the top 4 players: 1st – 50%\, 2nd – 25%\, 3rd – 15%\, 4th – 10% \nDoors open at 6pm for practice\, tournament begins at 7pm sharp. \nTournament entry is $20\, plus a $5 museum admission in lieu of coin drop. DESCRIPTION:You asked for it\, so we’re doing it again! 3 breweries — 1 epic showdown! Have a drink\, socialize\, play some pinball\, and win some cash! \nQualifying will be held simultaneously at both Golden Cactus Brewing (214 5th St. SW) and across the street at Big Lick Brewing Co (409 Salem Ave. SW)\, followed by playoffs at a third location TBD. \nThe tournament will be in “Best Game” format. Participants will play each game at least once between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the available pins during qualifying. Each game may be played up to 3 times in an effort to increase your score on each machine\, potentially moving you up in the rankings as you outscore other opponents. As each game finishes\, the tournament director at your location will record your score on that machine. Once your score is recorded\, you must either move to another game\, or go to the back of the line to try again on the same game. Points will be awarded based on how you rank against everyone else on that machine. \nQualifying will end at 4 p.m. sharp\, at which point any remaining scores will be entered and calculated. To account for the possibility of a machine breaking down before all participants can play it at least once\, each player’s 1 or 2 worst-ranked games may be dropped. \nTop 4 in the standings at 4 p.m. will go on to the playoff. We will re-convene at 5 p.m. at the final location (either Twisted Track Brewpub or A Few Old Goats Brewing) for a 3-game playoff\, scored 7/5/3/1 for each game. Any ties will result in a 1-ball playoff on a game of the TD’s choosing. Prize money will be distributed to all 4 finalists as follows — 1st: 50%\, 2nd: 25%\, 3rd: 15%\, 4th: 10%. \nCost to register is $15\, and machines will be on coin play. 100% of entries will go to the prize pool. Please bring cash\, as we will be unable to process credit cards. SUMMARY:The Great Roanoke Pinball Pub Crawl!
DESCRIPTION:It’s the Roanoke Pinball League’s first off-site tournament — at not one\, not two\, but THREE different breweries! Have a drink\, socialize\, play some pinball\, and win some cash! \nQualifying will be held simultaneously at both Golden Cactus Brewing (214 5th St. SW) and across the street at Big Lick Brewing Co (409 Salem Ave. SW)\, followed by playoffs a quick walk away to Twisted Track Brewpub (523 Shenandoah Ave. NW)! \nThe tournament will be in “Best Game” format. Participants will play each game at least once between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the available pins during qualifying. Each game may be played up to 3 times in an effort to increase your score on each machine\, potentially moving you up in the rankings as you outscore other opponents. As each game finishes\, the tournament director at your location will record your score on that machine. Once your score is recorded\, you must either move to another game\, or go to the back of the line to try again on the same game. Points will be awarded based on how you rank against everyone else on that machine. \nQualifying will end at 4 p.m. sharp\, at which point any remaining scores will be entered and calculated. To account for the possibility of a machine breaking down before all participants can play it at least once\, each player’s 1 or 2 worst-ranked games may be dropped. \nTop 4 in the standings at 4 p.m. will go on to the playoff. We will re-convene at 5 p.m. at Twisted Track for a 4-game playoff\, scored 7/5/3/1 for each game. Any ties will result in a 1-ball playoff on the game of the TD’s choosing. Prize money will be distributed to all 4 finalists as follows — 1st: 50%\, 2nd: 25%\, 3rd: 15%\, 4th: 10%. \nCost to register is $15\, and machines will be on coin play. 100% of entries will go to the prize pool. Please bring cash\, as we will be unable to process credit cards. Please state who is participating and for which event. \nQ: Do I need to show up right at 1 p.m.?\nA: No! As long as you can play all 10 qualifying games at least once\, you’re good. SUMMARY:Let's Get Weird With It!
DESCRIPTION:Some of our tournaments this year are going to be a bit experimental\, somewhat off the beaten path — kinda… weird. \nAnd what better way to close out January than with our brand new Weird Al machine? \n4 machines will be chosen\, and each will be played by everyone 3 times. Your best score out of three on each machine will be compared against everyone else’s in Best Game-style. Top scorer on each game will get 2 extra points\, second highest will get 1 extra point\, everyone else will get 1 point for every player they beat. \nThe top 4 scorers for the night will go to a knockout style mini-tournament for the finals. All 4 players will compete on one machine in Group Match format. The top 3 scorers on that game move to the next game\, and the top 2 from that game will go head-to-head on Weird Al’s Museum of Natural Hilarity (assuming it’s still in working order). \nDoors open for practice play at 6:00pm\, with the tournament beginning at 6:30pm. Tournament games will be turned off during practice. \n\nRegistration is $15 ($10 for RPM VIP Patrons). $10 goes to the prize pool\, and the remaining $5 goes toward museum admission (waived for VIP Patrons) in lieu of coin drop. DESCRIPTION:Tournaments are back with a vengeance in 2023! Let’s ring in the new year with a double elimination challenge. Player’s will be pitted head-to-head on randomly assigned games\, with a winner’s bracket and a loser’s bracket. Lose twice and you are eliminated from the tournament. Players in each bracket keep advancing until there is only one player left. The finalist from the loser’s bracket must then beat the finalist from the winner’s bracket twice in order to win the tournament. \nDoors open for registration and practice play at 6:00pm\, with the tournament beginning at 6:30pm. \nRegistration is $15 ($10 for RPM VIP Patrons). $1 from the tourney buy-in goes to the IFPA for the sanctioning of events\, $5 for museum admission (waived for VIP Patrons)\, and the remaining $9 goes to the prize pool. SUMMARY:March Madness Flip Frenzy!
DESCRIPTION:2.5 hours of playing as much pinball as possible! Players will be placed in head-to-head matches against other opponents\, playing as many machines as possible within the allotted time. After you play a game\, player 1 will become player 2 on a new machine\, player 2 will go to the back of the queue\, and the person at the front of the queue becomes player 1 on the new machine. At the end of the 2.5 hours of Flip Frenzy\, the top 4 players will move on to a Final 1-game playoff to determine the winner. The tournament starts at 6:30pm sharp\, so you must check in at the front desk no later than 6:15pm so we can do pre-tournament announcements and start on time. \nTournaments are open to people of all ages and skill levels.
