Roanoke Pinball League – What You Need To Know

Here are a few answers to frequently asked questions about the Roanoke Pinball League.

  • Do I have to be good at pinball to participate?

Absolutely not! The purpose of the league is to provide a regular time for people who like to play pinball to get together and enjoy the hobby. The primary goal is FUN. Many of the more experienced members are willing to help the newer players learn to play the games. The league will be competitive for all skill levels and fun for all.

  • What are the dates for league?

Spring 2023 league dates are March 13, April 3, April 10, April 24, May 8, May 22, June 5, and June 19. Playoffs and end-of-season party will be held on June 26. League nights begin at 7pm. Players may arrive after 6:30pm to practice before league starts.

  • Where is it located? Is parking available?

League nights will be held at the Roanoke Pinball Museum located in the Center in the Square building on 1 Market Square SE (2nd Floor), Roanoke VA 24011. On-street parking is free after 5pm, and the parking garage attached to the building is available at posted rates.

  • Do I have to attend every league night?

Members are encouraged to attend every league night. The scoring for the league is designed to reward perfect attendance, but occasional absences are understandable. Therefore, a member’s 2 lowest league night’s scores are dropped from the final standings.

  • What if I like pinball, but I am unsure if I want to commit to a league?

The league offers a nightly option that allows individuals to pay $5 (plus $5 museum admission) and participate in that night of league. League members are encouraged to bring guests to league nights. Individuals who use this option will be included the leagues final standings.

  • Is the league sanctioned by IFPA?

Yes, the league is sanctioned by the International Flipper Pinball Association. Anyone who participates in one night of league will automatically become an internationally ranked pinball player. See IFPA.com for more details.

  • Are the games free with my league dues?

Games are set to free play, but in lieu of buying tokens, a $5 museum admission will be required each night for anyone who is not a current VIP supporter of the Roanoke Pinball Museum. More information on becoming an RPM supporter can be found here.

  • How do I register?

Send $25 via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp or Zelle to roanokepinballleague@gmail.com. Please be sure to use the “Friends and Family” option if using Paypal to avoid extra fees. You may also e-mail roanokepinballleague@gmail.com to register and bring cash to the first night of league on September 13th at the Roanoke Pinball Museum. We will be unable to process credit cards, so cash or one of the payment options above will be required.
